If you want to achieve spiritual qualities, you must first control your diet. There are a few limitations to keep in mind: do not consume too many sweets, too much junk food, and no restaurant food. Prepare your own food at home. Cook a limited amount, so that nothing is left over. And eat nothing between meals – no nuts, no apples, fruit, tea, coffee – for at least four or five hours, except drinking water.

Hatha Yoga Kriyas

Hatha means 'to do something', where you need a lot of self-control and discipline. Hatha Yoga has six techniques, also known as shat karma. In the West, people wrongly believe that Hatha Yoga consists of practicing asanas, but those are part of Raja Yoga. Pranayama breathing techniques are also part of Raja Yoga, except for one specific type of pranayama, which is one of the six Hatha Yoga techniques.

Pranayama Full Yoga Breath

The word pranayam is composed of the word pran (life energy) and vyayam (practicing). It is the exercise of vitality – the life force, life energy. Breath is life, without the breath we cannot exist. Our whole body is breathing and there are techniques to train our body to receive more oxygen.
