37th World Peace Tour of His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda

His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, Mahamandaleshwar of Maha Nirvani Akhara, began his 37th World Peace Tour in beginning of March 2009 from Europe travelling to USA where in New York he was invited to take part in discussions about the global economic crisis at the headquarters of the United Nations. His Holiness conveyed that that the solution to this global problem is possible through spirituality, yoga and inner peace whilst living according to the Vedic culture.

In Washington D.C. His Holiness was invited to partake in an inter-religious dialogue at the Catholic National University near the White House, where exchange of religious ideas took place. His Holiness spoke about the necessity for mutual understanding and support for all spiritual paths, rather than converting people to religions through force or through money. To compel one to convert to another religion through force or by coercion with money, is to cause immense conflict in families and communities, and it is discriminatory he said. Vasudeva Kutumbakam - the whole world is one family.

In Vancouver, Canada, His Holiness spoke about inner peace through meditation according to the ancient teachings of the Rishis - which is the only way to regain balance in the world and to give inner contentment and peace. His Holiness also spoke that this global economic crisis is a kind of psychic threat for humans which has brought about such a crisis and through which millions of people are psychically suffering. His Holiness spoke about nacient wisdom for modern times as the key to finding peace and balance in the world.

From Canada His Holiness travelled to New Zealand, visiting Auckland and Wellington where he spoke about the great Maharishi Patanjali. His Holiness also conveyed it was unfortunate that yoga was used by some to make themselves self-made gurus which has commercialised yoga, misguiding people in the process. His Holiness exalted the spotless teachings of Yoga as conveyed by great rishi Patanjali, Avadhut Shivsvarup Sri Devpuriji of Kailash, Rajasthan, Bhagwan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji of Bari Khatu and H. H. Dharmsamrat Paramhans Swami Madhavananda of Nipal, Rajasthan, as well as thousands of great Indian saints, rishis and gurus.

His Holiness was then invited to Sydney, Australia to officiate as guest of honour and Yoga Patron at the 2nd International Ayurveda Yoga Australia Conference which was organized by Mrs. Farida Irani and attended by a great many internationally respected scholars and dignitaries from India including representatives from government of India Mr. Anand, Joint Secretary of AYUSH and renowned Professor Dr. P.H. Kulkarni from Pune.

Whilst in Sydney His Holiness was invited by the Reverend Minister Bill Crews to visit the Exodus Foundation a shelter for Sydney's homeless, to inspire and give spiritual motivation.

His Holiness then continued his tour to hold programs in all major cities, including Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Melbourne. In Melbourne, the committee of the World Parliament of Religions extended an invitation to His Holiness to return in December to officiate as keynote speaker at the next historic international CPWR event which will be held in Melbourne. Also whilst in this city the President of the Interfaith Centre of Melbourne invited His Holiness to participate in an inter-religious dialogue which coincided with the Christian celebration of Easter. Here His Holiness conveyed scientifically and authentically about the tradition of Easter having its origins in the Vedic culture, specifically the concept of Hiranayagarbha - the Golden Egg. It is said, Ananta Brahmand Sahastra Suryas: this universe is endless and the Vedas declare that within it are thousands of solar systems. The Vedas declare this endless universe as Mahakasha – the great void of nothingness and within Mahakasha is Chaitanya - Cosmic Consciousness. This Cosmic Consciousness, Hiranayagarbha can be likened to the Golden-Womb or Golden Egg of Mother Consciousness. This is the origin of Easter. Due to the busy schedule of His Holiness, he was unable to visit the city of Adelaide on this tour however the Premier of South Australia, His Excellency Mike Rann personally telephoned His Holiness to extend an invitation to Adelaide on his next visit to Australia. His Holiness congratulated Premier Rann on his recent nomination as Chairperson to the International Committee on Climate Change. At the conclusion of his Australian tour, His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda arrived at the most beautiful city of Perth located on the shores of the Indian Ocean, where he opened the hearts of all through the teachings of Indian culture and spirituality - the means to achieve Inner Peace for World Peace. All his devotees accompanied His Holiness to the seashore to offer prayers and salutations in greeting and adoration of the holy Indian Ocean that stretches to the shores of the great land of India.

His Holiness will spend three weeks in the holy land of India before continuing for the 38th time on his next World Peace Tour.
